- Reading Salon:
Henri Bergson and John Geiger
- 5 February 2015, 7.00pm
- FPG Project Space
The Reading Salon meets for informal discussion, encouraging both a critical engagement with contemporary art and an open space for debate and learning.
To coincide with Rick Buckley’s show ‘Black Bile 84’, the artist has chosen an excerpt from Matter and Memory (1896) by Henri Bergson.
This will be read alongside an excerpt from John Geiger’s Nothing Is True Everything Is Permitted: The Life of Brion Gysin (2005).
The salon will discuss these texts through the the recognition of Images, Memory and the Body.
“To learn by heart is to create a cerebral mechanism, a habit of the body”
