'A Taste of Honey', 1961.
Directed by Tony Richardson.

Based on the adaption of the play of the same name by Shelagh Delaney, 'A Taste of Honey' is considered a key film in the British New Wave that followed the Free Cinema movement of the late 1950s. The original play itself is also considered one of the defining plays of the 1950s working-class and feminist cultural movements.

Presented as part of the tenth annual Southend-on-Sea Film Festival and the public programme for 'Get Out and Push!' at Focal Point Gallery.

This event is free and all are welcome.
