NEW DIRECTOR AT FPG

Focal Point Gallery would like to introduce our new Director, Andrew Hunt, who starts at the end of July 2008. Andrew has been working as Curator at International Project Space, Birmingham , since early 2006, and prior to that as Assistant Curator at the Norwich Gallery. He contributes regularly to the contemporary photography press.

Andrew Hunt, Focal Point Gallery Director

Andrew Hunt says: I'm very excited about the prospect of working for Focal Point Gallery . The organisation has huge potential to develop in the region, and by engaging with new developments in contemporary art practice in an exciting way, we plan to build a vibrant programme of exhibitions, projects and events that will take the Gallery forward with an international profile. Through this, we hope to provide the local community and national audiences as a whole, with a challenging and fresh perspective on contemporary art within the unique context of Southend.
