Focal Point Gallery aims to show a high quality, challenging exhibition programme of regional, national and international significance within the fields of photographic and new media arts. An emphasis is placed on work that explores new developments in these fields, both technically and creatively, and that furthers current critical debate. We aim wherever possible to show new work and we look for new ways of presenting a broad range of photographic work. Through our exhibitions and accompanying education programme we seek to develop understanding of contemporary photography and new media arts.

Our exhibitions programme is usually planned up to 18 months in advance. Those wishing their work to be considered for exhibition should submit a written proposal with supporting visual material to the Gallery Director. It is advised that artists/curators visit Focal Point Gallery, or at least consider the physical nature of the exhibition area and past programme before submitting proposals. The exhibitions team meets to consider proposals on a quarterly basis. A response to each proposal is made as soon as possible after the programme meeting.

Please note
We do not accept any proposals submitted by email. Letters and packages should be clearly marked "Exhibition Proposal". If you wish us to return material you must include appropriate postage. We regret we cannot take responsibility for unsolicited material, especially prints, and all work is at the submitter's sole risk. Work which is not accompanied by appropriate postage and packaging for return, it will be disposed of after six months.

If you have any questions about making a proposal, please do not hesitate to contact us.
